The Classic Red Lip & Bronze Smoky Eye

You can’t beat a red lip/bronze eye combo. It’s my absolute favourite make-up look, especially for nights out. I always use the same products and never get bored of how it looks. I even style my outfits around this look from time to time. The red lip is an instant confidence booster; it’s striking but also classy. The bronze smoky eye is the perfect complement as it doesn’t draw attention away from the lip but still manages to highlight and contour the eye beautifully. The full, “undone” brows, individual lashes and subtle faux freckles complete the look.

The base //  a natural, semi-matte base is vital for this look. The red lip is the focal point, so I don’t like the skin to be too glowing or it would steal too much attention. There should only subtle luminosity on the high points of the face. Go to town with the bronzing to complement the warm tones on the eyes, but again, I prefer to use a shimmer-free bronzer.

– L’Oreal Infallible Foundation

– MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

– LA Girl Pro Concealer (Almond) to contour

– Kiko Eyeshadow no. 208 to highlight

– NARS Orgasm blush

– Primark brow palette for freckles and brows.

The eyes // a relatively easy look to re-create but always a winner. I think it’s so important with eye looks to find a good eyeshadow palette that has a mix of matte/shimmer/bold/subtle/wearable shades so that you can practice complete looks without having to faff around with numerous products. They definitely don’t have to cost the earth, either. Cue my biggest obsession and hands down my most-used and most-recommended eyeshadow palette:

– Zoeva Cocoa Blend – Substitute For Love (transition shade); Freshly Toasted & Subtle Blend (outer corner); Pure Ganache (over the lid)

– Zoeva eyeshadow brushes

– MAC 217 brush

– Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

– Eyelure Individual Lashes (couldn’t live without)

– Ardell lash glue

The lip // I’m convinced this lipstick suits everyone and will never stop buying it and recommending it to red-lip-newbies and beauty addicts alike. I like to pair it with a slightly darker liner to give an ombre effect and the illusion of fuller lips. Yup, you guessed it:

– MAC Lady Danger

– Kiko Creamy Colour Lip Liner no. 307
